Alright! After some internal debate we've decided to simplify our license renewal policy for Cerberus Helpdesk 4.0.

The previous policy was to reward renewals within 12 months a 50% discount based on their initial purchase price. There were always a couple issues with this:
Didn't people who bought Cerberus more than 12 months ago contribute just as much to a fledgling project?
What was the "initial" purchase price? Does the renewal include discounts/coupons?
Does a cutoff at 12 months subconsciously drive the development team to delay new releases to maximize renewal income? (the answer is no, but it's a tough argument to win!)Confusing, right? So we've decided to simplify the renewal policy and make things a lot more fair and transparent. The new policy states:

We value every license owner as a critical contribution toward improving Cerberus Helpdesk. As a token of appreciation, we currently offer subsequent years of product upgrades at 50% of the current, undiscounted purchase price. This offer currently covers everyone who has purchased a license regardless of how long ago the original purchase occurred.Simply stated, if you've ever bought an owned license for Cerberus Helpdesk then you are eligible for a 50% discount on the current price. No voodoo and no calculators are necessary.

Because of past complexity, renewals were always handled by contacting sales -- leading to extra steps and delays. We've now added the ability to purchase a license renewal immediately through the WGM Store (http://www.cerberusweb.com/purchase.php).

Enjoy!

How about the situation where you are a long time customer who paid for v2 and v3? *cough* I'm thinking 75% discount ? :)

Well, if $250 is wildly outside your price range for a year of e-mail management and the presence of our lovely company, then you can always chat up the sales guys! ;)

But if we start having to cut the basic coder amenities too far, a silent revolt may start sneaking Cerb 2.0 and 3.0 code back into Cerb 4.0 in some kind of twisted karma.

Is that a risk you're willing to take? :D
