I've noticed that merging does some funny things.
First if you merge two conversations one of them disappears... completely. You can't search for the ticket number or internal ID.
Secondly, the "merging" doesn't show up in the audit log. Nothing.

Hi there,
I was going to open up a new jira item about this, but it seems like there was already something in the system: http://www.wgmdev.com/jira/browse/CHD-435
I would like to suggest an alternative direction...

It seems to me that the concept of "related tickets" would address a number of outstanding merge issues like :
http://www.wgmdev.com/jira/browse/CHD-435
http://www.wgmdev.com/jira/browse/CHD-616
http://www.wgmdev.com/jira/browse/CHD-174
thoughts?

That covers the auditing. However if you have to tickets with different ticket numbers, that may be given to different people about the same issue, and one of them completely goes away with no trace that it ever existed..... is that really the intended functionality?

Hey pk4 you stuck that in while I was writing my reply. That would be a great solution for my situation. The merging is nice, but I want to be able to at least find the contact by either mask
