View Full Version : Build 573 - Cannot download e-mail

I just updated to build 573 this morning and since then our helpdesk has not downloaded any new e-mail. I'm using imap from an exchange server. I did the test in the helpdesk setup and everything was successful.

I logged into the account through webmail and i can see all the e-mail, it's just not getting into our helpdesk.

Any ideas? Everything was working fine with build 566.

I was able to figure it out. For some reason, the POP3 Mail Checker was locked up. I just had to manually start it again and now everything is fine.

One quick question though, since i'm running IMAP to download e-mail, why do i need to have the POP3 Mail Checker service running?

Probably just for simplicities sake rather than the devs coding in 5 different items to say like POP3 mail checker, IMAP mail checker, POP3 with SSL mail checker, etc. It's all umbrella'a under that item to check mailboxes.

That's what i thought. Maybe it would be best to change the name so that it doesn't cause confusion.

In case anyone was still wondering, as of build 642 this scheduled job is now referred to as "POP3 / IMAP E-Mail Importing" . For the uninformed the questionable name was under "helpdesk setup" -> Scheduler tab. No more confusion hopefully. :)
