Hmmm, looks ok in the interface but funny in outlook (Notifications) if I have
AddDefaultCharset latin1 enabled.

Using AddDefaultCharset utf8 or none makes half the GUI look funny but now Outlook looks fine...

Aint developing a treat :)

@Pancho: Thanks! :)

@Danny: I'll give Notifications another look real quick.

Alright, give Build 565 a shot on the notification e-mails. The encoding should be forced to ISO-8859-1 (Latin1) for the time being, rather than detected as 7-bit or UTF-8.

The printable character test set I've been using is:

First: Thanks for the fix!

But I'm not sure if it really works as desired: I upgraded to rev 566.
When I add a new organisation with umlauts it is displayed correctly only after a reload of the site (which isn't a big problem.)

When creating a new ticket via "log message" with umlauts in the subject and body they are displayed like this:

öäößßßß

In contrast to the next action, which also contains umlauts and is displayed fine ...

Hey Irene!

Here's what I get from Log Message with all the special characters in ISO-8859-1:
http://www.webgroupmedia.com/images/cerb4/c4_r566_logumlaut.png

What browser are you using?

Can you verify the browser is in the ISO-8859-1 charset? (Firefox is View->Character Encoding. IE is View->Encoding. Opera is View->Encoding. Safari is View->Text Encoding.)

Hi Jeff,

I'm using Firefox under Fedora, the encoding is ISO-8859-1, the encoding of the mysql database is utf-8.

Jeff,
You might also want to take a peak at templates, when inserting they get the ÅÄÖ fubared like before.

Alright, just tested that on our helpdesk and saw the added chars, I let Jeff know about it. Thanks :)

I'm a bit confused - there are no special characters that are displayed correctly with the latest revision. I can't test incoming mails as the issue under http://www.cerb4.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136&highlight=kerberos is still unresolved but as far as I can test replies or comments on existing tickets all umlauts are displayed like this: test: äöüß

Is that due to my server or database encoding settings or still unresolved?

Basically the kerberos-problem and the missing utf8-encoding are preventing me from moving to Cerb4.

Irene

Hi Irene,

Would it be possible for you to send an email to us at support@webgroupmedia.com with your helpdesk url so we can see some debug info? If so, make sure that our ip (69.229.191.174) is permitted in your helpdesk setup, general settings.

Guten Abend Irene,

I remember that all "pre Kingdom" Umlauts remained as they were AND replies to them funnily enough too. Only tickets created after that version behaved as they should. As I am still "playing around" with Cerb4, I have no historic data to check, but just sent a mail in and replied to it:

"From: Test Support Team <service@vimus.de>
To: jfk@panacea.de
Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2008 19:31:36 +0200

ß äöüÄÖÜ

A Note, though, reads ß äöüÄÖÜ as ß äöüÄÖÜ. Comments show OK.

Immer extra Probleme mit diesen Deutschen, or Jeff? ;)

Hi Pancho!

Thanks for your reply. I just checked it and created some new tickets with the simulator, but when answering to them the umlauts are still incorret.

Schönes Wochenende :)
