View Full Version : KB WYSIWYG Link Editor Rewriting Local Links to HTTPs

We have some internal files, which one would download/link to by going to, for example: \\s:\abc\123\blah.exe. When using the KB link creator/editor, although it recognizes that it's internal, it rewrites them by adding http:// and changing all the slashes.
(Additionally, the link creator doesn't seem to work correctly with Firefox).
Any ideas (on the primary issue)?

Hey there!
That WYSIWYG editor in the KB is entirely code from the YUI (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/) library.
I'll open a bug in our project portal and see if there's anything we can do to work around it for you:

Thanks!

Yeah I've noticed in FF you have to play with it a little. Usually you just have to bold/unbold the text to enable the other menu options (like linking/color/font/etc).
I'll see if we're current on the YUI library updates.

Alright!
If you're feeling adventurous I've updated our YUI library to the latest release (2.3.1) from Sept 19th 2007.
On my quick scan through things it did seem to be a bit better about text selection and enabling the menu items.
It still seems to mangle your local URLs though. Perhaps we can write an "insert local url" plugin for it -- or provide a toggle to get at the raw HTML.

Oooo! That'd be great!
