We use the KB in v3 to store internal info our staff needs.

How can we do this in v4 so there is a link in the menu to a KB that is NOT Public and requires sign in (staff only) to view

Thanks
Todd

Hey Todd,

Simply set up a KB Community Tool and then block access to the site with your webserver's directory security. You could do that with a password or by IP range.

You should make sure your security rule makes KB search RSS available to Cerb4 if you want to integrate your private KB with Fetch & Retrieve.

Apache userauth:

IIS6:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/en-us/iis/iis6_faq.mspx
(search for "How can I password-protect a folder in IIS 6.0?")

this is our employee manual and all shared info is stored there to be accessed from inside the worker interface.

sending them to another web address for a KB they can not edit is not a good option...

requirements:
Easy access from the main menu
Ability for Agents to add and edit content
no need to leave the worker interface

Can we do this in v4?

Jeff's got the KB on his shortlist for 4.0 release, so you should be getting some of these imprvements soon.

What is the path to bring the info in our 3.6 KB (100% Private) into v4?

Will we be able to have it imported? Will we need to copy and paste?

Time frame?

Best,
Todd
