[Feature Request] Make Workspace choice persistent across logins

When logging out and back into cerb4, I notice that the workspace choice in My Workspaces goes back to the top of the list of workspaces instead of to the workspace I was using when I logged out. Can this be made persistent?

Also, I wonder about the My Workspaces drop-down position. It really causes a large chunk of wasted space on the left side of the window. And this causes me to consider another thought: Do the Overview screen and My Workspaces really need to be separate screens like that? What if they were combined? Have the My Workspaces selection box show up below the Unassigned and Assigned boxes on what is now the overview screen. If you want to look at both setups at one time you would need two browser windows open anyway, so why not just combine them? It would be helpful to have the Unassigned and Assigned lists that show on the Overview screen accessible along with the Workspaces list to give a better overview to a supervisor or upper level technician without having to switch between Overview and My Workspaces.

If I'm misunderstanding how it's supposed to work, please let me know. But I think it would increase efficiency for my shop, at the least.

If that doesn't make any sense, could the My Workspaces selection box be moved to a location that doesn't cause so much wasted space in the window?

This is definitely occurring and re-opening the last Workspace you were looking at would be a great timesaver in my opinion as well. I went ahead and filed this as a feature improvement in our database for the developers. You can look at its progress here as well.

I don't have much sway over interface design choices, Jeff would be the one to make decisions on this. Knowing him he'll reply with some feedback for you in this thread shortly ;).

Yeah, that doesn't persist to a Worker Preference at the moment. I've added CHD-433 to my list of usability tweaks. They're my morning fodder to get the dev juices going. ;) Thanks for bringing it up!

I agree. For now, I'd rather just move the dropdown above the worklists and let them fill 100% of the browser width -- instead of trying to combine Overview and My Workspaces.

Ultimately we may do just that, but currently it wouldn't be too practical because of the way the Overview links directly control that single worklist on the right. Even though the page re-renders, all the Overview stuff shares a single worklist (they just procedurally tweak it). Contrarily, every worklist on My Workspaces is globally unique.

Just wondering if this was still on your list. We're running build 566 and this behavior seems to still exist. Or am I just missing the place to set the list preference?
