Hi!
I'm currently testing the latest release of Cerberus 4. Unfortunately it is not yet able to deal with umlauts. In the original ticket umlauts and special chars are displayed correctly but as soon as you start replying to it they get messed up.
Will this be corrected?
(It would be very important to us.)
Thank you,
Irene

Hey Irene,
We'll absolutely support special characters like umlauts in 4.0. The "mbstring" requirement in the installer is there so we can even support multi-byte strings.
Languages like German, Spanish, French, Italian are as easy as English because they use the same Western-Latin character set (ISO-8859-1). The main issue is when e-mail is transported in 7-bit encoding since this encodes all "special" characters.
We've been waiting to finish up the translation system until the 4.0 functionality was finalized, since it's time-consuming to update all the string resource files when things are changing massively day-to-day.
We're almost to the point we can wrap this up. From the interest shown so far, German will be the second language supported.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
IreneF
