Downgrading from Cerberus4 to Cerberus3

We haven't upgraded to 4.0 yet, but we are considering it. Is it possible to downgrade back to version 3.0 if we find 4.0 isn't working for us? Is there a way to export the tickets out of version 4.0 and import them into 3.0?

Hey there!

There isn't currently a migration tool going backwards from 4.0 to 3.x.

However, it wouldn't be terribly difficult to export all Cerb4 messages after a certain date back to raw e-mail, and then push them through the Cerb3 parser (by POP3 or piping).

That wouldn't import statuses or anything, but a simple custom script could also dump out SQL statements to sync the Cerb3 DB to whatever tickets you had closed in Cerb4.

I doubt this is something we'll end up officially providing, but you definitely wouldn't be trapped.
