I use the Send and Email thing pretty extensively. I don't know quite how you intend it to be used, but I generally create emails to start discussions with people (or follow up on phone conversations, etc), and they should generally start out "resolved", so to speak.

Have you considered putting that same "Next" panel from the reply widget on the "Send an Email" form? I'd love to be able to have those tickets start out closed, then wake up when there's either a response or that set amount of time has passed. Especially for sales related things.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I went ahead and added your request to our bug tracking/improvement website so the developers can take a look at it. You can track it's progress here:

That's all committed. I implemented the whole 'Next' blurb from replying on the Compose screen.
