So I'm working this morning and all of the sudden at 9:35 a swarm of 15-20 emails come into the helpdesk....I had noticed it was quiet yesterday and got nervous....

All the emails that came in were from yesterday. So this afternoon I take a look and new emails are not coming in from today. I log into email account and notice they're all sitting there yet again. I run the cron task to no avail, it doesn't "see" anything.

This is a huge problem yet again. These issues are getting to the point of this solution being non functional for us. Sorry to vent but seriously, seems every week or two we run into a random roadblock that stops business. Then the next day or two there is an svn update in the stable branch and things are back to normal.

What can I do to find out why cerb is not pulling our mail? I'm using whatever the latest svn update is and yes, it's from the stable branch. :(

I went under the scheduler and noticed that "POP3 / IMAP E-Mail Importing" was locked. When I unlocked and ran it, it said downloaded one message and then relocked.

The message it was trying to download, but never did, had a PDF attachment that was about 30MB. It look like this was holding it up. I saved the attachment and deleted the email and now it works fine and doesn't lock.

Any thoughts on why large attachments are causing it to lock and stop downloading altogether?

The most likely reason is that the process timed out or ran out of memory while attempting to download the attachment. If the downloader crashes without finishing properly, the lock file will remain (for 10 minutes, I think).
